Sportsmens Lodge

Design services for a 10 acre hotel renovation and retail expansion located in
the San Fernando Valley off Ventura Boulevard. Operating under the historic
name of ‘Sportsmens Lodge’, the design team was charged to create an identity
attracting a regional draw, similar to that of Rodeo Drive and other popular and
well known retail and entertainment districts in Studio City. Challenging the
notion of the traditional retail layout and exposure, the team treated the retail
and entertainment space as a volumetric solution tying the space together in a
bold landscape gesture. This solution infused the attributes and the emotional
experience of the ‘Lodge’ through natural materials and using those materials to
create beautiful form.
