Four Seasons Bahrain

Client: SOM NY
Description: Landscape Architecture resort design services for the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Business Bay occupying the central island of the newly constructed Bahrain Business Bay. Four Seasons Hotel is one of two architectural icons and serves as the centerpiece of the waterfront project.
The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Business Bay is part of a master plan development that is centered around a unique concept: an island connected by two bridges that form an inner harbor. Two organizing principles define the bay: radiating circles that carve the central island, promenade and road system, and two intersecting axes which define vistas, the canal and five key monuments.
The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Business Bay project included landscape architecture services such as designing and siting an adult infinity pool and childrens pool, a tennis court, a salt water lagoon, a helipad, an outdoor ballroom function area, and a island marina to host yachts. A strategic planting and shading plan was also established to be tolerant to the harsh environmental conditions, ocean salt spray and planting on structure.
